Approximately 17,000 mall employees are expected to receive financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Ayuda Para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP).

On Tuesday (November 12), personnel of the DSWD Field Office-National Capital Region (NCR) distributed Php5,000 cash aid to each of the beneficiaries under the AKAP program at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia (MOA).

The beneficiaries are security guards, salespersons, and housekeepers working in MOA. Tenant employees will also receive cash assistance from the DSWD.

House Speaker and Leyte 1st District Representative Martin Romualdez supervised the AKAP payout along with Pasay Lone District Representative Antonino Calixto, and DSWD-NCR Crisis Intervention Section-Legarda Offsite Serbisyo Social Welfare Officer Lea Idea.

The AKAP is a government initiative that provides financial assistance to individuals and families experiencing economic hardship. The program focuses on helping those who have lost their jobs or have reduced income due to various circumstances, including the impact of natural disasters or economic challenges. (YADP)
