An official of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has assured that the agency has effective monitoring mechanisms to ensure compliance among its beneficiaries.

“Mayroon kasi tayong naka-assign na case manager in every household so sya yung bumibisita, sya yung tumitingin kung ang mga bata ay nakakapag-comply sa conditions. Sila yung tumitingin when it comes to relationship ng isang pamilya,” Director Gemma Gabuya, 4Ps national program manager, said during the 9th episode of the ‘4Ps Fastbreak’ on Wednesday (November 13).

Director Gabuya said municipal links and city links could subject 4Ps households to counseling if family problems arise, such as child abandonment or neglect.

“In case may problema ang pamilya, immediately ang ating municipal or city links, nagko-conduct sya ng case management. Minsan kasi ang nagiging problema, bakit inaabandona kasi kailangan magtrabaho ang magulang outside sa kanilang tinitirhan. So, pwede silang tulungan, pwede mag-intervene ang ating mga municipal at city links para ma-ensure lang na talagang natututukan yung mga bata,” the 4Ps national program manager explained.

In addition to case management, Director Gabuya told ‘4Ps Fastbreak’ that the national program office conducts family development sessions (FDS) to empower beneficiaries by equipping them with new skills and knowledge related to their parental roles and responsibilities.

The focus areas include education and the psychosocial needs of children; health and nutrition; promoting positive family values; and strengthening marital relationships, according to Director Gabuya.

For the 4Ps beneficiaries, attendance to the monthly FDS is mandatory, reflecting the agency’s commitment to empowering marginalized communities through education and practical support.

The 4Ps is a flagship program of the national government aimed at reducing poverty and promoting social development. It offers cash grants to impoverished households to enhance their health, nutrition, and education, especially for children aged 0 to 18.

The ‘4Ps Fastbreak’ is hosted by Information Officer Venus Balito of the Strategic Communication Group’s Digital Media Service (DMS) and is aired every Wednesday, 11 am, using the DSWD’s Facebook platform.# (AKDL)
