The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the World Bank (WB) convene for technical discussion during the 8th Implementation Support Mission (ISM) for the Beneficiary Fast, Innovative, Responsive, Service Transformation (BFRIST) held at The Oracle Hotel and Residence in Quezon City from November 21-22.

DSWD Undersecretary for Policy and Plans Group (PPG) Adonis Sulit and Assistant Secretary Marites Maristela of the National Household Targeting System (NHTS) and the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) led the opening of the two-day technical discussion.

During the sessions, the DSWD and the WB reviewed the progress of the BFIRST Project. They focused on identifying areas for improvenent and discussed the achievements, which resource persons and executives from both organizations thoroughly covered.

Recent discussions highlighted the i-Registro, a digital innovation from the agency designed to enhance the delivery of social protection services. This initiative aims to streamline processes through standardized targeting systems and improved information exchange platforms.

The BFIRST project, a collaboration between the DSWD and the WB, seeks to strengthen the DSWD’s social protection delivery systems, making them more adaptive and efficient.

Regular technical discussions evaluate the project’s achievements, progress, challenges, and future directions.

Representatives from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the UN Capital Development Fund, and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade—critical partners in implementing the BFIRST project—also participated in the meeting. (LSJ)
