The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) held the 2024 Awarding Ceremony for Outstanding Social Welfare Agencies (SWAs) and auxiliary Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDAs) on Thursday (November 28) at the Madison 101 Hotel in Quezon City.

Standards and Capacity Building Group (SCBG) Undersecretary Denise Florence Bernos-Bragas led the awarding ceremony for the nine SWAs and auxiliary SWDAs from various regions. Each recipient was honored with a recognition plaque and received a cash incentive of Php50,000.

In her keynote address, Undersecretary Bragas emphasized their crucial role in delivering comprehensive social welfare services to the most vulnerable populations, especially given the country’s rapidly evolving social work environment.

Held annually, the search and award for outstanding SWAs and SWDAs aims to highlight the crucial role of social work-centered agencies and organizations in nation-building while promoting the replication of their innovative initiatives and best practices.
