The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has a total of ₱10,406,475.28 standby funds, 120,383 family food packs and ₱117,884,769.03 worth of food and non-food items readily available at Field Offices CAR, I, II and III since October 9, 2015, for resource augmentation to local government units (LGUs) that will be affected by Tropical Storm Lando.

DSWD Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman said that all disaster teams in DSWD-Field Offices along the path of ‘Lando’ are now on alert status ready to provide technical assistance to LGUs along relief distribution and management of evacuation centers.

Based on the forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA), about 1,898,669 poor families from the three regions  will be affected by ‘Lando.’

Sec. Soliman reiterated that families in the said regions especially those in the low-lying areas should follow the orders of their local authorities for their own safety. ###
