The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is expecting around 80,000 household-beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) to receive the First 1,000 Days (F1KD) of Life conditional cash grant starting this January.

“Uumpisahan na natin ngayong January 2025. Ito talaga ay pinaigting na serbisyo para sa ating Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program lalo na’t focus siya sa mga buntis at yung may 0 to 2 years old na anak,” Director Gemma Gabuya, 4Ps National Program Manager, told reporters during the DSWD Thursday Media Forum on January 23.

Director Gabuya told reporters that they are constantly reminding 4Ps grantees to update their beneficiary data so that they will be able to avail of the F1KD conditional cash grant.

“Itong aming campaign ngayon sa ating mga household beneficiaries, maging masipag sa pag-report at pag-update nila kung sila ay nabuntis at kung sila ay nanganak na para talagang namomonitor natin ang numbers ng beneficiaries,” Director Gabuya said.

The 4Ps National Program Management Office (NPMO) director also emphasized that a set of conditionalities will be reinforced to promote health-seeking among beneficiaries.

The requirements include accessing pre-natal services at Department of Health (DOH)-accredited health facilities, tracking pregnancy and receiving ante-natal care services, attending post-natal visits, participating in counseling sessions, and obtaining micronutrient supplements and immunizations, among other services.

These requirements are aligned with the provisions outlined in Republic Act No. 11148, known as the Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Mag-Nanay Act, as well as other health protocols established by the DOH.

“Kung ang bata ay nag-aral at healthy, mataas yung kanyang potential na makapagtapos ng pag-aaral at makaahon sa kahirapan in the long term,” Director Gabuya pointed out.

The 4Ps is the flagship program of the national government on poverty reduction and social development implemented by the DSWD which provides cash grants to extremely poor households to improve their health, nutrition, and education, particularly for children aged 0-18. (AKDL)
