Responding swiftly to the urgent needs of 1,829 families affected by severe flooding in Kabacan, Cotabato province, the Disaster Response Management Division of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XII distributed family food packs (FFPs) to alleviate the hardships faced by the flood victims.

DSWD FO XII Director Loreto Cabaya Jr. reported that the recent heavy rains and subsequent flooding in Kabacan town resulted in significant damage to homes and loss of livelihoods.

Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Director Loreto said the distribution of FFPs was immediately carried out in coordination with the provincial government of Cotabato, ensuring that the aid reached the most vulnerable households.

Present during the distribution were Cotabato Province Board Members Jonathan Tabara and Ivy Dalumpines Balitoc as well as former Board Members Alberto Rivera and Rosalie Hallado-Cabaya.

“We are fully committed to providing immediate assistance to our fellow citizens in times of crisis,” Director Cabaya said.

DSWD FO XII is actively engaged in the ongoing support and monitoring of the affected families, ensuring that their evolving needs are continuously assessed and addressed.
