Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian paid tribute to the awardees of the Social Technology (ST) Expo Awards Night at the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel on Wednesday (December 18).

Around 160 local government units (LGUs), partners, and stakeholders were recognized for their invaluable contributions in the nationwide implementation of the DSWD’s development
programs such as the Tara! Basa Tutoring Program, the Walang Gutom Program, and the Pag-Abot Program.

As part of the 2024 ST Expo, the awarding ceremony highlighted the exceptional achievements of the awardees while inspiring more partners from the private and public sectors to continue leveraging on innovation and technology to uplift lives and address crucial social issues.

The ST Expo,  which carried the theme “Empowerment Evolution: Unleashing Potential Through Innovation,” served as a platform to showcase various social technologies and recognize the LGUs that are actively implementing these innovative solutions.

Joining Secretary Gatchalian in the event were Innovations Group (IG) Undersecretary Eduardo Punay, Assistant Secretary Baldr Bringas, Program Development and Enhancement OIC-Assistant Secretary Marcelo Nicomedes Castillo, and Social Technology Bureau (STB) Director Helen Suzara. (LSJ)
