A total of P42,237,310 worth of relief assistance has been provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD,) as of  2am,  December 16,  to local government units (LGUs)  in Regions IV-A, V, and VIII for distribution to families affected by Typhoon Nona.

Of the amount, P38,995,900 went to the LGUs of  Albay with  P10,316,104; Camarines Norte, P4,965,236; Camarines Sur, P10,671,552; Catanduanes, P7,040,260; Masbate, P1,111,620; and, Sorsogon, P 4,891,128.

Northern Samar, in Region VIII, was provided P2,700,000, while Batangas, in Region IV-A was given P541,410 worth of aid.

As of presstime,  a total of 170,845 families or 758,177 persons are affected of which 52,899 families or 236,452 persons are inside 861 evacuation centers  managed by LGUs in Regions IV-A, IV-B, V and VIII.

Based on initial assessment of the impact of the disaster, DSWD disaster teams in the affected regions reported  a  total of 90,953 damaged houses with 8,059 totally and 82,894 partially destroyed. ###
