The First 1,000 Days (F1KD) of Life conditional cash grant under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is not only for pregnant women but also for children 0 to 2 years old.

“Ang sakop ng programa natin ay either buntis o 0 to 2 years old na bata. So hindi po nag-mamatter dyan kung nanay o tatay yung grantee, ang importante po yung grantee ay either asawa o anak nya yung mapapasama doon sa program natin na F1KD,” 4Ps Social Marketing Division Chief Marie Grace Ponce said in the DSWD’s online talk show, 4Ps Fastbreak, on Wednesday ( January 29).

The F1KD is set to boost the nutrition-specific benefits among 4Ps beneficiaries, particularly to household-beneficiaries with pregnant and lactating mothers nursing children aged 0-2 years old.

“Hindi ito naiba sa health grant, mas pinalawak po natin yung health grant na binibigay po natin sa mga benepisyaryo ng 4Ps. Nung mga nakaraan, wala pang F1KD cash grant, ang health grant ay nakukuha per household yung compliance nila, dapat ay tumatalima sila sa lahat ng health conditions pero dito sa F1KD, binibigyan natin ng specific conditions,” SMD Chief Ponce explained.

To receive the monthly F1KD grants, the 4Ps division chief said all qualified 4Ps beneficiaries must comply with the conditionalities of the program including accessing pre-natal services at DOH-accredited health facilities, tracking pregnancy and receiving ante-natal care services, child birthing or delivery at a DOH-accredited health facility, attending post-natal visits, participating in counseling sessions, and obtaining micronutrient supplements and immunizations.

In order to avail of the F1KD cash grants, SMD Chief Ponce urged qualified 4Ps members to update their beneficiary profile manually through forms provided by City or Municipal Links, or digitally through the i-Registro web portal.

The i-Registro is a new digital platform that will enable beneficiaries to update their information. It can be accessed through https://iregistro-4ps.dswd.gov.ph.

However, 4Ps beneficiaries may only choose one method of updating their records to prevent duplication of entries.

Launched in 2008 and institutionalized by Republic Act (RA) 11310 in 2019, the 4Ps is the national poverty reduction strategy and human capital investment program that provides conditional cash transfer to poor households for a maximum period of seven years to improve their children’s health, nutrition and education.

The 4Ps F1KD takes effect this January.

The ‘4Ps Fastbreak’ is hosted by Information Officer Venus Balito of the Strategic Communication Group’s Digital Media Service (DMS) and is aired every Wednesday, 11 am, using the DSWD’s Facebook platform. (AKDL)
