In response to the compounded impacts of the southwest monsoon caused by Typhoon Ferdie and Gener, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has released Php265,805.61 worth of relief assistance to affected families in Cagayan Valley.

As of September 19, the DSWD Field Office (FO) 2 – Cagayan Valley has distributed a total of 375 boxes of family food packs (FFPs) to families affected by the subsequent weather disturbances in various parts of the region. Of this number, 300 FFPs have reached families in Bambang and 15 FFPs in Ambaguio in the province of Nueva Vizcaya.

The FO also mobilized immediate relief aid to four families from Sto. Nino, Cagayan, eight families in Palanan, Isabela and 48 families residing in Cabarroguis in Quirino province.

In coordination with local government units (LGUs) across the region, the FO is actively monitoring the conditions of affected families and evaluating the need for additional assistance.
