Discussions in the Thursday (October 31) Media Forum of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) revolved on the agency’s latest disaster response efforts for Severe Tropical Storm (STS) Kristine and Super Typhoon (ST) Leon as well as the plan of the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) for the celebration of the National Children’s Month (NCM) this November.

CWC Executive Director Undersecretary Angelo Tapales called on the public to support the various activities for the NCM as he reported on the various efforts to combat child abuse in the country.

National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB) Chief Administrative Officer Irish Yaranon assured the members of the media that the DSWD, together with the logistical support of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), is maximizing all available modes of transportation to ensure that all families severely-affected by the weather disturbances will promptly receive the essential aid they need.
