As proof of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) commitment to good governance, transparency, and accountability, the Department was recognized as the agency that progressed the farthest among five pilot government agencies implementing the Integrity Management Program (IMP).

The other IMP pilot government agencies are the Department of Health, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Justice, and Bureau of Internal Revenue.

IMP is the national corruption prevention program of the government, which covers six dimensions or management systems that are linked together to enhance both individual and systems integrity, namely: Service Delivery; Institutional Leadership; Human Resource Management and Development; Financial, Procurement, and Asset Management; Internal Reporting and Investigation; and, Corruption Risk Management.

The objectives of the IMP consist of reducing the level of corruption vulnerabilities at the department/agency level, ensuring integrity is practiced in public sector, and improving the public’s trust and confidence in government.

The DSWD-Integrity Management Committee is chaired by Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman, with ASec. Javier Jimenez as Vice Chair.

The DSWD Central Office five (5) priority OBS (Pantawid, SLP, PSB-Social Pension, SB, and HRDB) has submitted its 5-year Integrity Management Plan last 25 June 2015 to the IMP- Program Management Committee- Technical Working Group (PMC-TWG).

Furthermore, the World Bank (WB) has promoted the IMP as the anti-corruption and good governance framework for WB-financed programs and projects at DSWD.  The Bank has initially committed to grant funds amounting to USD 20,000 to support the IMP rollout at the DSWD-Field Offices II, III, V, IX, and CARAGA.  The rollout will be conducted from September to November. ###
