The staff of the DSWD’s National Household Targeting Sections (NHTS) from the agency’s different Field Offices conducted the Area Profiling Activity in the 235 municipalities with higher incidence of poverty and child stunting, including Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries nationwide. The profiling activity is in preparation for the scale-up and roll-out of the i-Registro self-service social registry for pregnant and lactating mothers (PLMs) and their children aged up to First 1,000 Days of Life (F1KD).

In line with the national government’s initiative to improve the delivery of social protection services, the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) National Household Targeting Office (NHTO) will soon expand the implementation of the i-Registro.

The i-Registro is a dynamic social registry (DSR) for self-service registration and data verification catering to would-be program beneficiaries.

“The i-Registro provides updated demographic data that can be used for targeting, planning, and implementing social protection programs to support vulnerable households and individuals,” NHTO Director Jimmy Francis Schuck II said on Thursday (November 21).

The i-Registro is a digital transformation effort to modernize the agency’s processes. It allows beneficiaries to update their information in real-time, minimizing delays between changes in their circumstances and access to necessary assistance.

Following the successful test run last July, the i-Registro is set to launch its self-service registration for pregnant and lactating mothers (PLMs) and their children who are in their First 1,000 Days of life (F1KD).

Director Schuck said this service will be implemented in 235 municipalities with higher rates of poverty and child stunting, including the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beginning January 2025.

The system is set to implement additional features based on the scale-up plan.

These features include updating, information validation, and interoperability with other administrative databases. These will be done alongside the piloted functionalities of self-service registration and information authentication through the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).

In preparation for this scale-up, the NHTO, through its Regional National Household Targeting Sections (NHTS), collaborated with the barangay local government units (BLGUs) to conduct a comprehensive area profiling activity. From October 8 to 19, the profiling activity covered 235 municipalities and 5,936 barangays.

“The area profiles down to the barangay level will impact the preparation, pace, and overall conduct of PLM registration starting early next year. To standardize and expedite the profiling activity, the NHTO has developed an Area Profiling Application, an automated data collection system of municipalities and barangays,” Director Schuck explained.

The NHTO director said the area profiling will evaluate the different regions’ geographical characteristics, economic conditions, and social dynamics.

This assessment will help determine the necessary support capacity and strategies for effectively and efficiently collecting all PLM data in the expansion sites.

“By leveraging technology and modernizing the agency’s processes, the DSWD i-Registro ensures that everyone, especially disadvantaged Filipinos, has easier access to a simplified, integrated, and more efficient delivery of social services,” Director Schuck said. (CDB)

“The i-Registro provides updated demographic data that can be used for targeting, planning, and implementing social protection programs to support vulnerable households and individuals,” ayon kay NHTO Director Jimmy Francis Schuck II.

“The area profiles down to the barangay level will impact the preparation, pace, and overall conduct of PLM registration starting early next year. To standardize and expedite the profiling activity, the NHTO has developed an Area Profiling Application, an automated data collection system of municipalities and barangays,” sabi pa ni Director Schuck.

“By leveraging technology and modernizing the agency’s processes, the DSWD i-Registro ensures that everyone, especially disadvantaged Filipinos, has easier access to a simplified, integrated, and more efficient delivery of social services,” dagdag pa ni Director Schuck. # (MVC)
