Besting seven other government agencies, the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Mga Kwento ng Pag-Asa at Pagbabago (#KPAP) online documentary bagged the Public Service Campaign – National Level Award in the first-ever ‘Parangal: Gawad ng Kahusayan sa Komunikasyong Pampubliko’ of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

Receiving the award, on behalf of the agency’s Strategic Communications Group, which manages the online documentary, was Asst. Secretary Irene Dumlao.

“On behalf of the Department of Social Welfare and Development at ng aming butihing Secretary Rex Gatchalian, nagpapasalamat kami sa Presidential Communications Office sa parangal po na iginawad sa aming ahensya. Makakaasa po kayo na pagbubutihin ng aming departamento ang pagbibigay ng impormasyon para mas marami pa po tayong matulungan na mahihirap natin kababayan,” Asst. Secretary Dumlao, who is also the DSWD spokesperson, said in her acceptance speech during the awarding rites at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City on Monday (December 16).

The online weekly documentary features stories of hope and change from beneficiaries of the DSWD’s development programs, specifically the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS), and the Project LAWA (Local Adaptation to Water Access) at BINHI (Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished).

The #KPAP was conceptualized and supervised by Special Assistant to the Secretary (SAS) for Communications Raymond Robert Burgos, with Digital Media Service (DMS) Director Dianne Joie Ruiz as its project director and Traditional Media Service (TMS) Director Aldrine Fermin as the project manager and host.

Aside from the #KPAP, the DSWD 4Ps also received five nominations during the PCO’s Parangal. These were the Public Service Campaign for the Tanong mo, Sagot ko initiative; Government Innovation Award for the 4Ps e-panalo ang kinabukasan; Outstanding Digital Campaign for the 4Ps TV; Outstanding Digital Campaign Best Infographic for the 4Ps Voters Education; and, Outstanding Digital Campaign Best Long Form for the 4Ps TV.

Nagwagi ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Mga Kwento ng Pagasa at Pagbabago (#KPAP) isang online documentary, bilang Public Service Campaign-National Level Award sa ginanap na kauna-unahang ‘Parangal: Gawad ng Kahusayan sa Komunikasyong Pampubliko’ ng Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

Sa ngalan ng Strategic Communications Group, ang parangal ay tinanggap ni DSWD Assistant Secretary at Spokesperson Irene Dumlao.
