Member-agencies of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Zero Hunger (IATF-ZH), chaired by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), convened for the IATF-ZH’s 7th regular meeting on Friday (August 30).

Representing the DSWD in the meeting were Asst. Secretary for Innovations Baldr Bringas, who is also the Officer-In-Charge of Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPHAP), and Deputy National Program Manager (DNPM) for Operations Rolando D. Villacorta Jr. of the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS).

The 7th meeting, presided by IATF-ZH co-chairperson Asst. Secretary Azucena Dayanghirang, who is also executive director of the National Nutrition Council (NNC), delivered updates on the status of available programs of member-agencies on hunger, and food security.

The IATF-ZH regularly conduct formal meetings in continuous effort to augment the implementation and monitoring of nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive programs to address food insecurity in the country.

Present during the meeting were Department of Agriculture (DAR) Undersecretary Rowena Niña Taduran; Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Undersecretary Teodoro Gatchalian and Dir. Ahma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba; Team Leader for Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP) Dr. Faith F. Alberto of the Department of Health (DOH); and Food System Specialist Jacquelyn Escarcha from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).#
