Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Asst. Secretary for Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG) Irene Dumlao provides updates on the Department’s ongoing response efforts for Typhoon Ofel and preparations for the approaching Tropical Cyclone Pepito.

During the DSWD Thursday Media Forum on November 14 at the DSWD Central Office, Asst. Secretary Dumlao, who serves as the agency’s spokesperson, reported the total amount of humanitarian aid that the agency has distributed to families impacted by Tropical Cyclones Kristine, Marce, and Nika.

Under Secretary Rex Gatchalian’s directives, Asst. Secretary Dumlao said the agency is actively enhancing the stability of its relief resources, augmentation support, and disaster response workforce amid the natural calamities affecting the country.

The Media Forum is organized by the DSWD Strategic Communications Group and hosted by Raymond Robert Burgos, Special Assistant to the Secretary for Communications, and Clarissa Lara Duran, Officer in Charge of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Strategic Communications and Director of the Agency Operations Service.
